Questions and Answers

what is QMS?

A) A quality management system (QMS) is a system that outlines the policies and procedures necessary to improve and control the various processes that will ultimately lead to improved business performance. One of their purposes is quality control in manufacturing. Although it may seem obvious that quality systems are necessary, many small or start-up companies function, or attempt to function, with only some areas covered. A survey performed in 1988 indicates the breadth of the systems established within the biopharmaceutical industry. The table below summarizes the systems and the percentages of the respondent companies that had established these systems. The age of the company and the industry had some effect on the extensiveness of the quality function activities . It is clear that testing is the primary emphasis. This supports the observation that testing or QC is perceived, at least in the beginning, as the emphasis of the quality function. In manufacturing industries, statistical process control is a vitally important methodology used to control quality. This is important in the Six Sigma quality management scheme, pioneered by Motorola.

what does QMS mean?

A) so far as i know, its Quality Management System. and the scope of quality management systems are now a days no longer just quality,, its becoming business management systems, as the business rolls around quality,, thats the fulfillment of the customer specified and implied requirments.

where i could find qms k8 cartridge?

A) OK, this took a lot of finding!!!! BUT! The Cartridge in the K8 is quite common. It's a 92285A. You will find it listed all over the place for HP Printers, but if you check the compatibility lists, you will find that it also lists a lot of QMS printers. I have included the link where I got the information from detailing the cartridge for the K8, but as I don't know if you are in the UK or the US, I can't be sure where best to advise you to buy from, however if you put 92285A into yahoo and search, you will find plenty of outlets. Hope that helps :) Oh- The link is : http://www.ascotlaser.com/cartref2.htm IT@tonicweb.co.uk

What is the difference between ISO 9001 QMS & CMMi process implementation? Which should one opt for?

Q) A software company wants to implement systems & processes. But is unable to decide as to whether to go in for ISO 9001 or CMMi? How will implementing both help them? What is the difference between them? Which one should it opt for if it's broad objective is in-house systems & externally marketing? Can somebody share their experiences on this?

A) ISO 9001 is mainly used for process documentation. it mainly helps the organisation by defining all process of the organisation and who is responsible and accoundable for each and the perfomance measures for each activity, it stress on process improvement. CMMI shows the maturity of the process that is being followed by the organisation. level 0 - the process fails to achieve its objective, 1 - process is adhoc and may not be repetable, 2- repetable process ,etc.... Cmmi implementration will be more costly than iso implemetation due to lesser qualified peolep. CMMI is mostly used for producing systems like s/w or production. ISO focuses on the whole organisation and not just the production process. the management should decided its focus.{the whole org or just the production part}

Combining General Relativity with Quantum Mechanics Yields Infinities?

Q) When General Relativity theory (GR) is mathematically mixed with equations for Quantum Mechanics (QMs), more often than not, infinities arise. Why? Could these infinities actually be useful information that is trying to communicate something significant about the laws governing nature? One has to wonder at just what point does GR breaks down when combining QMs? Is it at the atomic level, or on the order of molecules? Could it be that GR and QMs express the same information but in two different kinds of formats and, are just a duality of one another? If GR and QMs are just dualities with GR representing the large version of its duality, QMs; and, QMs representing the small version of its duality, GR, do we really even need to combine them to understand the forces in this universe? Could it be that GR and QMs are to each other what M-theory is to the 5 versions of string theory? The infinities may be telling us that we need to rethink our whole approach to GR/QMs unification.

A) To answer your question, I say "yes", we may need to rethink our whole approach to GR/QP unification. While string theory does a great job of doing away with the infinities, it also comes with a HUGE problem : because of the infintesimal size of strings, we cannot now - and may never be able to - provide observational evidence that they truly exist. I have no idea how to resolve the issue (gimme a break - if Einstein, Hawking, and others couldn't) but I tend to think there is something metaphysical that is missing from the current equations. I have read several books that try to dismiss the "observer" effect, but none of them have completely accounted for it. Based on that, and other things like nonlocality, I feel there is some deeper, hidden truth that we cannot see because we cannot let go of our notions of what should and should not be (no Zep pun intended),

How can I find this, MIMFN5_P.Dll I need it to load my printer.?

Q) Minoltaq QMS Printer, cant find my software

A) http://printer.konicaminolta.net/support/index_ds.html Go to this Minolta site and download the driver, especially if you've updated your operating system (to XP?) since purchasing the printer. though i don't see the QMS printer on any of these lists. do you have the name right? it's not on the discontinued list either. maybe it's time for a new printer if the manufacturer can't support an updated driver!? usually a missing dll file indicates an install or uninstall of software that it was sharing with. reinstall the software and the dll may come back...

As an HR i want to change the name of our Quality Management System can anybody specify some entries?

Q) It is a software company and ia am working as an HR in it .The name has to be changed from QMS to some thing. My company name is BUTLER INTERNATIONAL

A) What do you hope to achieve by changing the name? QMS has nothing to do with the name of your company. What it does is tell your customers/clients that you are operating by international quality standards. Detailed investigations may indicate that you are ISO certified. The system "QMS" is so named because it is a Quality Management System. I would imagine that the system was deigned with ISO9000+ standards which are international quality standards. Changing the name might defeat the purpose of having the system in the first place since your successors might not be aware of the origins of the system with a name change. QMS is synonymous with ISO9000, ISO 14000 so my advice to you is to leave the name alone. See the following links for info: http://www.qmsuk.com/ http://www.qms.net/

What kind of amp should I use with 2 12" bazooka BW1224's??

Q) Here are the specifications of one 12" Bazooka BW1224 I'm not going to use liquid cooling with these woofers. BW1224 Power Handling 500 Watts Power Handling with Liquid Cooling 750 Watts Impedance Dual 4 ohm Sensitivity 92 dB Frequency Response 20Hz - 250Hz Recommended Power 100-500 Watts Voice Coil Size 2 inch Fs 27.3243 Hz Qts 0.4750 Qms 9.8862 Qes 0.4989 Vas 110.7753 Re 2.0637 (@ 1kHz) Le 0.7565 (@ 1kHz)

A) You could either: Get a mono amp that's 1000 watt RMS @ 4ohm and wire the subs like so: http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/sparky3489/PARALLEL-SERIES.jpg This will load the amp at 4 ohms which is what it would be looking for. -or- Get two mono amps that are 500 watt RMS @ 2 ohm each and wire each sub to each amp like so: http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/sparky3489/SINGLE-PARALLEL.jpg This will load the amps at 2 ohms each. Keep in mind, the lower the impedance (ohms), the more THD (total harmonic distortion) you will introduce.
