Kays, Littlewoods home shopping catalogues?

Q) Hi there, I was wondering if anyone knew the answer to my question..... If you pay off some of your total balance by debit card through the website, will that amount come off my minimum payment that has to reach them by the 17th? Or do you have to pay through the bank/post via the giro slip that comes with your statement each month? Im not sure this has come out right, I hope you can understand what I mean!! Thanks x

A) you have paid it by card, its the same as doing it throough the bank but its quicker! Just like me!

What home shopping catalogue is there that is not affiliated to Littlewoods?

Q) Kays used to be seperate but Littlewoods has even taken over that now. I thought we had a monopolies commission in this country that stopped that sort of thing

A) Freemans?

Work from home Question..... Avon....Mary Kay....?

Q) I have been interduced to "The Body Shop at home" product line. And I have thought of becoming a consultant. This seems to be a Avon meets Mary Kay type thing. Has anyone ever heard of this? Do you lik eit if you have? And has anyone made ANY money with this? I am not looking to quit my job, I am interested in this mainly for my own personal use. As it gives you lots of freebies to use and try. But I was just wondering if this has worked for anyone.

A) I am a consultant and yes it is a challenge but you have to use your head to make money. I just start with marykay and I am loving it, meeting people is tough but you have to go on. I see to everyone even it the animals could i think i would approach them too hehhe.

How to start my own gourmet treats business from home for sell via the internet? What steps do I need to take?

Q) I am a married stay at home mom of 3 boys. My husband works but at this time one income is not enough for a family. I love to bake and make desserts. I am looking for info on how to start my own business online to sell my desserts. I live in Maryland and wanted to know what licenses and requirements there are to use my kitchen at home to bake and sell these items online. I am also looking for info on any legit work from home business that does not require me to sell anything (i.e. Mary Kay, Avon, insurance etc.) I am not much of a seller, unless it is something that really interests me like my desserts. I have applied for LiveOps before but they were not hiring at the time. I have seen a couple of sites that say own your own online Dollar Store and Shopping Mall, and they say that they do not require any type of money or fees to get started and all you have to do is pick the items that you want to have in your online store. Thanks everyone for all and any help I recieve.

A) Before you begin selling edible items from home, you will need to do some research to keep yourself protected. I have begun the process of an at home biz that sells food items. You need to speak to your insurance agent first. They will tell you what insurances you require so you don't lose your home if someone claims to get ill from your product. Also your local zoning office, check to see that your biz is permissible by your town/city. You will need a tax i.d. number available at your city or town's Dept of Revenue Services office. You will also need to check with your local health dept. and acquire a business license. The Small Biz Assoc can be a great help and many places have a local division called SBDC (small biz development ctr). There's a lot to check into to have a legit food biz from home and it's best to take the right path to ensure all goes well. Best wishes.

What are some real things a stay at home mom can do to make some extra cash?

Q) I have two very small children that I stay at home with. I would like to make a little extra money every month for shopping. I already sell on ebay (sometimes that doesn't go so well though). I had a yard sale last weekend and did well. I don't really want to babysit since I already have two kids of my own to take care of. And I have no one to sell Avon, Mary kay to. Is there any other way to make extra money?

A) There are some legitimate survey sites out there you can use to make extra money. If you try http://www.lightspeedpanel.com and like you can email gpcdon@yahoo.com and I will send you two more sites that you can do. Also check out my website http://www.geocities.com/gpcdon for a list of my paid to read email programs I am a part of. I highly recommend Adbux if you are looking for some extra money every month for shopping. Hope I could give you some real things a stay at home mom can do to make some extra cash. Glen

What type of direct selling opportunities exist for men? For instance, Tupperware parties for guys?

Q) We always hear of direct selling opportunties for women: Tupperware, Mary Kay, Discovery Toys, Pampered Chef, Body Shop at Home, Avon, Longaberger Baskets, jewelry, etc... the list goes on and on. But what types of things are available for men? What "parties" would men attend?

A) I am a Director with Tupperware and have over 5 men on my team. I also have 4 husband/wife teams working their businesses together! The guys hold Tupperware parties, just like the gals. EXCEPT-- They do BETTER! Their sales are higher and they date more parties. Why? Maybe it's because the gals like to have a Tupperware-Guy? I don't know. But, it is definitely an option! We have two men in our Top 10 sellers for the entire year, last year! Tupperware is plastic. It is for your kitchen. It is for your garage. It is for your tackle box. You can use a plastic container anywhere you need to organize! It is NOT a women's only product! I know some of the guys have Football or beer parties! Guys love Tupperware. If you'd like more info on how to give it a shot-- let me know! You can find me on the web at: http://my.tupperware.com/hornek or http://tammyhornek.com. Best of luck in your career search! Whatever you decide to do--- HAVE FUN! Tammy Hornek Tupperware Director 317-884-2749

Is becoming an independent consultant for a company like Mary Kay or The Body Shop worth the starter kit money

Q) I have been to several home parties the last couple of months, and they are always looking for consultants? Is this a good opportunity or a waste of money?

A) What you are looking at is called multi-level marketing. Some of the better know MLM programs are Mary Kay, Tupperware, and Amway. This type of business is just like any other business - you get out of it what you put into it - both in terms of time, effort, and money. Part of it is also luck of the draw. If you should be fortunate enough to have an upline that is really dedicated to helping you grow your network you are better off than about 90% of the others in a MLM program. And this is like any sales job - you have to know your products, and you have to beleive in them. I have heard so many MK women say they beleive in the products "but I can't use MK products because . . . . . . " and then you can hear every thing from "they make me break out" to "eewwuu - I don't like that particular odor."

How do you prefer to shop for your Mary Kay products? Online or in person?

Q) This question is for the ladies out there that love using Mary Kay. After reading many posts it looks like most of us would rather just get the products we want without any other hidden agendas- home show or be asked to start, so I thought I'd ask. Of the products you use, which is your favorite? Timewise cleansers? Foundation? Moisturizers? Would you be more loyal to a consultant if you were able to get a discount for repeat business? www.marykay.com/smartskincare.com Hi IndiaB, thanks for the time it took to answer. I was asking those who like to use the product. Just like any other business out there I want to get some market feedback to help me direct traffic to my site. It sounds like you've had a bad experience from the suspicious "tone", which I understand. For MiaDiva2, when you buy on ebay- what are you looking for? Price is obvious, but what makes you buy from any particular buyer? Thanks!!!

A) my mother is a Mary Kay consultant and i would say she does a wonderful job..being interested in other ppl's skin and no one could really tell you on line so i would say meet a consultant in person. i use Mary Kay liquid foundation and it covers up anything noticeable and i just use their regular face wash with the purple stripe and then lotion after wards and it has never let me down!

plz. help me to write the main idea of this article in the NY Times. in two pages.?

A) I really thought about helping you out here, just because it would be fun to write. Then I looked at your profile and see that: 1. You answer other people's questions so obviously without care and thought and apparently just for points so you can go ask more questions. and 2. The people that are gracious enough to assist you or answer your questions most of the time don't even recieve the courtesy of you selecting the "best answer" but they are instead selected by voters. So instead I decide that if you are not interested in doing the right, then why in the world should anyone be interested in helping you?

Need girl's advice on jewelry present for my girlfriend's birthday!?

A) check with your local jeweler about starting an 'add a diamond' bracelet. you start out with a 'tennis like bracelet' with one diamond ... each year, or anniversay or special occasion, you can buy your girlfriend a diamond to add to the bracelet. it is also a great gift as family and friends can also purchase a diamond to add to her bracelet. my dad started my mom on one and it has been fun to see her bracelet with one diamond, grow into a fantastic bracelet with lots of diamonds! have fun!

I need help with my friend, please? What is wrong with her is she psycho?

Q) A very good friend of mine for 8 years now, her names Kay, has a tendency of talking about serious things casually and making jokes about them like their funny. She's always talking about killing herself, ways to kill herself, domestic violence, basically all her poor me crap. She does this all the time and like everyday. My sister says this is how she gets her friends and gets what she wants, through other peoples sympathy. I talk to her, console her, comfort her and I'm a good friend. Recently she had no food at home because no one would buy and she has no money and was starving, so I went shopping for her, got her food, let her crash at my place for a while, eat our food, and then i find out she was lying! What is wrong with her? Everyone has personal problems but she makes sure everyone knows hers and sometimes even makes them a part of it. I love her, she's my friend but what do I do? How do I confront her? What the hell is wrong with her anyways?

A) If you caught her in a lie are you sure the other more serious things are true???? Still, someone who does this is either thinking of suicide or looking for attention. Next time she does this suicide talk joking or not, take her to the hospital er and tell them that she threatened suicide and when they admit her they can tell if its an attention thing or not. Either way, they take it seriously and may admit her which is where she belongs anyway and she will get som e therapy (much needed). And for you back off for a while. She needs to learn that if she wants to be a part of your life, this is not acceptable behavior. Then stick with what you say, like she is a child. If you even consider someone that habitually lies a friend, you may want to look into yourself to find out why this is ok for you to be treated this way. Kicked dog syndrome???? and i mean no disrespect.
